I believe the saxophone is the greatest of all instruments. It can play as loud as a trumpet, as fast as a clarinet and...it's shiny too!
It was invented in 1846 by Adolphe Sax, the son of a clarinet maker, who developed the instrument by re-designing a bass clarinet.
